James 'JAE' Esplin is a singer/songwriter based in Oxfordshire. He performs a wide range of popular covers for all ages alongside his impressive original material. After years of playing in different bands, JAE has gone solo to work on his own sound. His sound ranges from evocative folk to acoustic punk and his own take on songs you didn’t even know you loved. With honest energetic performances and heartfelt lyrics, JAE really wears his heart on his sleeve with every show.
JAE started playing the guitar much later than most, at 17 so he had something to bring to the party at a performing arts college. He then fell in love with the guitar and hasn't stopped since.
He states his greatest musical achievements to date as his gig at the world-famous Troubadour Club in Earls Court where many of his idols have played before and since, and playing Blewfest in his home village. He has performed in numerous renowned venues such as Pinewood Studios, The O2, The Bullingdon and The Jericho Tavern and has a busy summer playing festivals, including Thame Town Music Festival, Towersey and Chillifest.
JAE signed to BFS Records in May 2017 and his debut single 'Daisy' was released December 2017 and currently has over 37,000 streams on Spotify. He has been working hard in the studio since with his latest EP 'Originals' released October 2019, which is quickly gaining as much interest.
He takes his influences from a wide range of artists including The Kinks, The Beatles, The Fratellis, Frank Turner and Mumford & Sons
